6th MENA Environmental Law and Policy Scholars’ Conference Concludes in Riyadh

The 6th Environmental Law Conference of the Association of Environmental Law Lecturers in Middle East and North African Universities (ASSELLMU) successfully concluded at the Faculty of Law, Arab East College, Riyadh, after three days of insightful discussions from February 24-26. The event fostered critical dialogue on water security and environmental law in the MENA region. 

 

Sponsored by SADER Legal, the UN Environment Programme, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and held in collaboration with the Rule of Law Programme Middle East & North Africa - Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V., and the UNESCO Chair on Environmental Law at Hamad bin Khalifa University, the event brought distinguished environmental law scholars, practitioners, and policymakers.

- Formal Book Presentation: “Biodiversity Law and Policy in the Middle East and North Africa

The conference concluded with the handover of the ASSELLMU conference flag to Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD), the host of the 7th Scientific Conference in 2026.
